Statement of faith
The Godhead
I believe in one living, true, eternal God revealed to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I believe in the Godhead, creator of all things and existing in three persons - one in essence, nature and attributes.
(John 1:1-2; 4:24; 5:18; 10:30: 1Jn 5:7)
The Son of God
I believe in the deity of Jesus Christ - God who became flesh and dwelt among us. That He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and was born of the virgin Mary. Jesus Christ, God's only Son who was both fully man and fully God.
I believe that Jesus walked the earth, living a sinless life, performing many healings, miracles and deliverances, causing the blind to see, the deaf to hear and the lame to walk, and offering the free gift of salvation.
I believe that He suffered at the hands of men and His blood was shed on a cross at Calvary where He died as a sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins, was buried and rose from the dead on the third day.
I believe that His sacrifice made a way, restoring our relationship to God, which was broken by sin.
I believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ and His ascension into heaven in full victory over satan and sin.
I believe that Jesus is "the only way" through which we can receive salvation. By and through him we are made righteous, regenerated, sanctified, and glorified.
(1Corn 1; 30,31)
I believe that Jesus is seated at the right hand of God the Father and that He intercedes for the body of believers to God the Father.
(Matthew 28:5-9; Luke 4:7)
I believe in Jesus' future return to earth as King of Kings.
The Holy Spirit
I believe that those who have received salvation have the third person of the Trinity/Godhead, the Holy Spirit, living within them, comforting, empowering and guiding them into truth and holy living. I believe that the baptism the Holy Spirit as an endowment of power which is expressed with speaking in tongues as the spirit of God gives utterance, in the gifts of the Spirit, and the evidence of the fruit of the Spirit for the common good and building up of others today. This baptism is available to all who believe.
(Acts 1:8; 2:4; 9:17, 10:44 -46, 11:15, 16; 19:6, Romans 8:9, 1 Corinthians 12:7, Galatians 4: 6)
Water Baptism
I believe in water baptism as the expression of obedience for repentance and acceptance of Jesus as personal Lord and Saviour.
The Scriptures
I believe in the Holy Bible, Old and New Testaments combined, consisting of 66 books is the inspired, God breathed, infallible Word of God and that the Word is the revealed will and the final authority pertaining to doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness.
(Psalm 19:7; Jon 17:17; Romans 15:4; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Tim. 3:15-17)
Mankind
I believe that mankind was created by God in His image, was given authority over all the earth and by voluntary sin (disobedience) fell from a lofty position. The consequence of this fallen state means that mankind's inclination is to do wrong and that on their own they are unable to achieve life without sin and that their only hope is the saving work of Christ.
(Genesis 1:27; 3:6; 6:5; Romans 5:12; proverbs 20:9; Romans 3:20; Galatians 2:6)
Salvation made available
I believe that salvation is personal, and made available to all through the sacrificial death and shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross.
Salvation received
I believe we receive salvation when we call upon the name of Jesus in repentance and receive Him as Lord and Saviour. This is the new birth. We are saved by grace, through faith, and not by works.
(John 3: 3; Acts 20:20, 21; Rom 10:9-13; Galatians 5: 4-5; Ephesians 5:2)
Healing
I believe that divine healing was included in salvation and that the redemptive work of Christ on the cross has provided complete healing for the human body.
(Matt 8:16, 17; Isaiah 53:4, 1 Pet 2:24)
The second coming of Christ
I believe and hope in His soon, literal, physical, return when He will receive those who believe on Him.
(John 14: 1-3; 1 Thessalonians 1:10: 4:13-18; 4:16-17; James 5: 7-8; Revelation 22:12, 20)
The resurrection of the dead
I believe in the resurrection of the dead: the just and unjust - eternal happiness of the saved and eternal punishment of the lost.
(Ecclesiastes 12:14; Mathew 25:32-46; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Romans 2:16)
The church
I believe the universal church is comprised of all true believers who have received salvation through Christ and I encourage fellowship with local church.
(Eph 1:22-23; Heb 10:25)
